Give the edit a purpose
Tell us who will watch, where the video will appear and what the viewer should understand or feel. A highlight, tutorial and channel update need different structures even when they use the same footage.
Supply the original clips, important timestamps, a reference and any moments that must stay. Explain what you like about the reference: pacing, subtitles, structure or music direction. A reference communicates a direction rather than a request to copy another creator.
Confirm the package and extras
Current editing packages are listed below. Before starting, confirm the intended final length, number of videos, source footage volume and any additional formats. Work over 60 seconds is assessed individually under the existing pricing policy.
Animated subtitles, advanced effects, thumbnails and project/source files are separate catalog options where available. They are not automatically part of every editing package. Ask for the exact extras and formats in the quote.
Review and handover
Send consolidated feedback against the agreed brief, ideally with timestamps. Corrections within the confirmed scope are distinct from a new concept, substantial new footage or an additional version.
Only provide footage, music, logos and other assets you are entitled to use. Editing does not supply a blanket licence for third-party media or guarantee audience growth. The final format, delivery method and timing are agreed before work starts.
What to include in your brief
- Platform, audience, final length and aspect ratio
- Original footage and important timestamps
- Reference, pacing and music direction
- Required captions, formats, assets and deadline
Questions about this service
Do I need to supply footage?
Share your existing footage and explain any recording still needed. Do not assume gameplay capture or filming is included unless it is explicitly agreed.
Are subtitles and source files included?
These are separately listed extras where available. Confirm them and the software or file formats you need before accepting the scope.
Will an edit guarantee more views?
No. CraftLabs supplies agreed editing work, not guaranteed views, subscribers or promotion results.
