Minecraft server setup

Bring the pieces of your server together: compatible plugins, permissions, menus and the player journey from joining to playing.

For server owners preparing a new server, rebuilding a gamemode or connecting existing features into a coherent setup.

Define the server before choosing the setup

Start with the experience you want players to have. A lobby, one gamemode and a multi-server network need different scopes. Tell us which parts already work and which need configuring, rather than ordering a larger setup just to cover an unclear brief.

We review the server version, plugin list, existing world and required integrations. The agreed scope identifies the systems to configure and the behavior to test. Network work is assessed separately where a proxy, shared permissions or cross-server features are involved.

What the agreed work can cover

Plugin settings, rank and permission groups, inventory menus, messages, player-facing navigation and compatible plugin-based gameplay systems can form part of the setup. Each item must be included in the confirmed brief.

The handover is the configuration and other files agreed for that project. Ask for installation notes or a walkthrough before the quote is accepted so these deliverables can be included.

Boundaries and checks

A setup does not automatically include hosting, paid plugin licences, a custom map, Java plugin development or an ongoing maintenance agreement. Tell us which dependencies you already own and can legally provide.

Before a live replacement, agree how to back up and test your existing server. Check joining, default permissions, privileged commands and the specific player journeys in scope. Compatibility depends on the chosen versions and plugins; a setup is not a promise of unlimited capacity.

What to include in your brief

  • Server software and Minecraft version
  • New server or existing setup, plus a plugin list
  • Required gamemode, player journeys and integrations
  • Files to deliver, launch deadline and available test environment

Questions about this service

Can you work on an existing server?

Yes. Identify the working systems that must be preserved and the specific changes needed. We agree the affected files and integrations before work starts.

Does this include a network?

Network setup is a separate service level. Describe each server, proxy and any shared systems so the team can assess the complete scope.

Is hosting included?

Hosting and paid third-party licences are not automatically included. The quote defines exactly what CraftLabs supplies.
